MET CS 634 ASSSIGNMENT 1
Jerry Abramson 11/3/2025
The Band's name is
"Echo Lux" This Indie-electronic
duo is composed of two young musicians, Alex and Maya. The band is new to
the scene and struggling to develop an identity to go along with their musical
lyrics and style. The band is in Los
Angeles and mostly performs locally or in the general southern California music
scene. The band is opening
for other, more well-known performers live, and in concert. The duo is looking
to build their digital presence and establish an online reputation as a unique
and exciting band. Echo Lux has a
distinct sound that blends atmospheric synths with infectious beats and
haunting vocal harmonies. Their music is often
described as "chillwave" or "dream pop," appealing to fans
of artists like CHVRCHES, Glass Animals, and M83. Young adults (18-35)
who appreciate electronic music, indie rock, and pop culture. The band currently
interacts directly with its small fan base during concerts and autograph
signing sessions. The band has been in
the recording studio and desperately needs to determine the best approach to
release a few singles on two initial digital platforms: o Apple
Music o Google
YouTube The band has a
Facebook page with some photos of concerts and the bands, and a couple of audio
clips of two of the fan's favorite singles. This is fine for the
existing, rather small fan base, but will not allow any sort of market
penetration. Simply releasing
music on these digital platforms is extremely expensive, and likely to yield
minimal revenue without some sort of web site or social media posts. The Facebook page is
nice, but not nearly enough for the costs associated with recording and
releasing singles on digital music "stores". An example of a band
that started out with a similar small, but extremely loyal fan base, is "The
grateful dead": The first thing I
notice when going to this web site is an elaborate animation with an icon to
unmute the audio. A similarly engaging
animated graphic with a rotating set of the bands most popular song tracks. Animated graphics
and high-quality audio samples are a base-line requirement for the new web
site. ASSIGNMENT COMPONENTS & DELIVERABLES Visual communication is critical to creating shared
understanding. For this assignment we're going to use a free website tool of
